A 10-year-old boy was thrown from a three-story waterslide’s landing at the opening day of a $43 million dollar California water park.
The East Bay Times reports that the child was riding the Emerald Plunge at the Saturday opening of The Wave in Dublin, California when he was launched from the waterslide and landed on the concrete below. The ride had only been open for 90 minutes.
Below is footage of the event happening. Warning: it’s disturbing.
The ride was immediately closed and spokeswoman Shari Jackman said they are “reevaluating that slide.”
The paper reports that the child was “shaken up” with a scratched shoulder, but was able to walk away from the incident and be treated at the park’s first aid.
